There are three types of accounts on HashPack:

Email accounts are secured using your email address via Magic Link authentication.
No recovery phrase/private key is required. Not connected to hardware wallets.
Optional 2-factor authentication via authenticator available (Google Authenticator, Authy etc.)
Can interact with Hedera dApps.

Normal accounts are secured by a secret 24-word recovery phrase.
Not connected to email or hardware wallets.
Can interact with Hedera dApps.

Hardware wallet accounts are secured using your physical Ledger/DCENT device.
Not connected to email or normal account recovery phrase.
Ledger cannot interact with Hedera dApps. Not currently supported via the HashPack mobile apps (Android/iOS). Please use PC (Chrome extension/web app).
Accounts created before January 2023 will not be an Email created account as this account type was not supported until January 2023.
