HashPack offers the ability to rekey your Hedera account. This tool allows you to generate and assign a new seed phrase to your account. Rekeying is not available for: Email Accounts, Hardware Wallets, Multisig Accounts, or ECDSA accounts.
- Go to Settings.
- Click Advanced Tools.
- Select Rekey Account.
- Review the Disclaimer and confirm you have read the disclaimer by checking the box, then click Next.
- Record your New Seed Phrase.
- Confirm your New Seed Phrase by entering the required missing words.
- Confirm the address of the account you are rekeying.
- You can optionally Reveal your recovery keys again to securely record them.
- Click Rekey Account to proceed to final confirmation.
- Once your account is rekeyed it cannot be undone. Please make sure you have saved all recovery information.
- Finally, confirm the rekey by clicking Confirm.
Disclaimer
If this account is currently imported to any other wallets it will no longer work. You will receive an Invalid Signature error when attempting to transact. You will need to remove the account and then reimport it using the new seed phrase provided.
